Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin, held in the City Hall,
in the City of Tustin, California, at 8:00 P.M.
May 17, 1937.
Present: Councilman: Huntley, Logan, Kiser,
Pieper, and Wilson.
Absent: Councilman: None.
Minutes of the regular meeting held May
3, 1937 were read and approved.
Resolution No. Moved by Councilman Pieper, seconded by
67 adopted, Councilman Kiser, that Resolution No. 67 be in-
troduced and adopted:
A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE STREET SUPERINT-
ENDENT TO ABATE THE PUBLIC NUISANCE HERETOFORE
DECLARED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN
TO EXIST IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN, TO-WIT: WEEDS
WHICH BEAR SEED OF A WINGY OR DOWNY NATURE AND
ATTAIN SUCH A LARGE GROWTH AS TO BECOME A FIRE
MENACE WHEN DRY AND WHICH ARE NOXIOUS AND DAN-
GEROUS, GROWING UPON CERTAIN STREETS, SIDEWALKS
AND PRIVATE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN, BY
HAVING THE WEEDS REFERRED TO REMOVED.
Carried and so ordered.
Resolution No. Resolution No. 68 introduced by Mayor
68 introduced William Huntley.
Resolution No. Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Council-
68 submitted man Pieper that Resolution No. 68 be submitted to
to Director of the Director of Public Works of the State of
Public Works California, for approval and agreement:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN APPROVING PROJECT STATEMENT NO. 5 RE USE
OF ONE-QUARTER CENT PER GALLON TAX APPORTIONED TO
THE CITY OF TUSTIN, ON STREETS OF MAJOR IMPOR-
TANCE IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN, AND AUTHORIZING SUB-
MISSION THEREOF TO DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR APPROVAL AND AGREEMENT.
Carried and so ordered.
City Engineer Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Council-
to proceed with man Wilson that the City Engineer, of the City of
Project Statement Tustin, be instructed to proceed with project State-
No. 4. ment No. 4. Carried and so ordered.
Permit to be Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Council-
issued to Morris man Pieper, that the City Clerk be instructed to
granting per- issue a permit to A.R. Morris granting him permis-
mission to cut sion to cut holes in sidewalk, near curb, for the
holes in sidewalk purpose of planting ornamental palm trees there-
in, along Yorba Street, and First Street, adjacent
to lots one and two of tract # 396. Carried and so
ordered.
Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Council-
Bills to be paid man Pieper that the following bills be payed and
warrants drawn for their respective amounts:

Stanley Newton 11.16
Tustin Fire Department 12.00
Union Oil Company 10.92
Tustin Hardware 17.91
Tustin Garage 3.40
Carried and so ordered.
Moved by Councilman Pieper,seconded by
Councilman Kiser to adjourn. Carried and so ordered.
