HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1933 06 05 June 5, 1933. The regular Semi-monthly meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin was called to order by the Mayor at eight o'clock P. M., on the above date, in the City Hall, Tustin, California. Councilmen Present: Huntley, Kiser, Logan, Pieper and Schwendeman. Councilmen Absent: None. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Logan, that the communication from Utt be tabled. Carried and so ordered. Petition for disincorporation read and presented by the Clerk to be sufficient. Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Logan, that a special election on the question of disincorporation be set for July 26, 1933. Carried and so ordered. Communication from State Department of Public Works in re- gard to street lay out read and ordered turned over to City Engineer, McBride. Communication from Salinas in regard to California Rodeo July 21st read. Referred to the Chambet of Commerce. Councilman Schwendeman reports that the Tustin Estate has offered to lease to the City the old lumber yard location for trash burning. After discussion matter ordered laid on the table for time being. The Council set the hours for the polls to remain open at the disincorporation election from 6 A. M. to 7 P. M. on July 26, 1933, and appointed the following election officers. Inspector ..................John Kiser Judge........................Alice Panell Clerk .........................Mrs. J. R. Harbour Clerk .........................D. T. Hayden Regularly moved and seconded that City Attorney order supplies for disincorporation election. Carried and so ordered. Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Pieper, the same salary or wages be paid election officers as at the last municipal election. Carried and so ordered. Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Pieper, that the two city precincts be consolidated and that the voting place be at the City Hall for the disincorporation election. Carried and so ordered. All of the above matter relative to disincorporation election was incorporated in and introduced as Resolution No. 40 by Councilman Logan, and it was moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Schwendeman, that Resolution No. 40 be adopted. Carried and so ordered. The Clerk again read Ordinance No. 36, and it was moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Kiser, that the Ordinance No. 36 be adopted as read.
