The regular semi-monthly meeting of the City Council of the
City of Tustin was called to order at eight o'clock P. M. by
Mayor Huntley in the City Hall, on the above date.
Councilman Present: Huntley, Logan, Pieper, Schwendeman.
Councilmen Absent: Kiser.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Clerk read his certificate on the Disincorporation petition
and the certificate on the withdrawal petition, as to both of
which it was found the petitions were insufficient. It was
moved by Councilman Schwendeman, seconded by Councilman Pieper,
that the certificates be filed with no further action.
Carried and so ordered.
An application for "Off Sale" beer license from George A. Smith
read by the Clerk, it having been certified to by the Chief of
Police, and it was moved by Councilman Schwendeman, seconded by
Councilman Pieper, that the Council grant the license. Carried
and so ordered.
It was suggested that at this time the Clerk discourage any
further applications for beer licenses, until the license matter
is settled.
Mr. Stafford presented his plans for a new building on First
and A Streets, and it was moved by Councilman Pieper, seconded
by Councilman Schwendeman that the application be tabled for
further investigation. Carried and so ordered.
Councilman Logan and Chief of Police Stanton were asked by
the Mayor to check up on the plans of the applicant.
Ordinance No. 36 was at this time introduced by title. This to
reduce the wholesale license to $12.00 per year.
After some discussion it was moved by Councilman Logan, seconded
by Councilman Pieper, that all salaries be cut 25% beginning
May 1st, 1933. Carried and so ordered. It was moved by Council-
man Pieper that the $320 per year expense of the Fire Plugs be
reduced 25%, but this motion received no second, so was held over.
Mayor Huntley appointed Councilman Pieper and Councilman Logan
to wait upon the E. P. Building Association asking for a
reduction in rent and with Water Department about Fire Plug
reduction.
Moved by Councilman Pieper, seconded by Councilman Logan that
the meeting adjourn. Carried and so ordered.
