The meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin was called
to order by Mayor Huntley, at the City Hall on the above date at
eight o'clock P. M.
Before the meeting proceeded, Mayor Huntley, gave all the citizens
present a chance to present their ideas of the question of the
sale of beer in Tustin. Considerable discussion was engaged in,
all with the result that as far as the City Council was concerned
it could at this time take no steps.
Mr. Forney presented an application to the City Council to erect
a service station at the corner of Mountain View and First
Streets, at his property. No action was taken by the Council on
the application, as the matter was turned over to Councilman
Kiser, Commissioner of Streets, to investigate and report to
Mr. Forney his findings in two or three days.
Mrs. Utt presented a petition to the City Council asking that
they grant no licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages in
Tustin. This petiltion was signed by ll8 citizens of Tustin.
The petition was ordered filed with the City Clerk.
At this time the minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved, and the meeting proceeded. All Councilmen were present.
Several petitions were read by the Clerk asking license to sell
beer, and it was moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Council-
man Schwendeman that the petitions be filed. Carried and so
ordered.
The application of Edward Zirinsky to sell fireworks was read,
and it was moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman
Logan, the the application be referred to Fire Chief Riehl for
approval. Carried and so ordered.
The matter of purchasing a battery for the Fire Truck was brought
up, and bids were read from J. C. Kidd, and it was moved by
Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Schwendeman that the
matter be referred to Fire Commissioner Logan to use his own
judgment on. Carried and so ordered.
Moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Schwendeman
that the bills be paid. Carried and so ordered.
Moved by Councilman Pieper, seconded by Councilman Kiser, that the
meeting be adjourned until Thursday night, April 6th. Carried
and so ordered.
