December 5th, 1932.
A regular semi-monthly meeting of the City Council of Tustin was
called to order by the Mayor at eight o'clock P.M. on the above
date at the City Hall, Tustin,
Councilmen Present: Huntley, Logan, Kiser, Schwendeman and Pieper.
Councilmen Absent: None.
City Clerk P.C. Brooks, being absent due to illness, Morris Cain, City Attorney,
was appointed by the Mayor to act as Clerk for this
meeting.
On account of Jury Trial being conducted by the Court in the City
Hall, it was moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman
Logan, that meeting be adjourned to upstairs in K.P. Building
in Tustin, and to continue. Carried and so ordered.
Councilmen proceeded up stairs where the meeting continued.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Motion by Councilman Pieper, and seconded by Councilman Logan, that
Street Commissioner Kiser be instructed to proceed to have the trees
along the streets in the City of Tustin pruned and trimmed wherever
same is necessary for the purpose and for promotion of public safety.
Said work to be done by day labor, and as economically as possible.
Carried and so ordered.
Application of Elmer M. Rains and Marian A. Rains Proprietors of
"Marian's Wheel Cafe" for license and permit to sell beer and
light wines in said cafe, in the event it becomes legal, according
to laws and ordinances adopted, was received and read. It was
thereupon moved by Councilman Kiser, and seconded by Councilman
Schwendeman that said application be filed until such time as the
Board may be properly in a position to consider same.
Resolution Number 38, relative to obtaining legislation for parti-
cipation in Gas Tax Funds was presented and read. Moved by Council-
man Pieper, seconded by Councilman Logan, that said Resoluton be
adopted and certified copy thereof forwarded to Hollis R. Thompson,
Chairman Gasoline Tax Committee, League of California Municipali-
ties. Carried and so ordered.
Motion by Councilman Pieper, seconded by Councilman Kiser, that the
City Clerk communicate with the Edison Company at its Santa Ana
office and inquire of them, if they were furnished with an Inspection
Card from the Electrical Inspector of the City of Tustin, prior to
making connecton of their service with the Thomas Schnell house on
the north side of Second Street, between D and E Streets, in the City
of Tustin, and inform them that the City of Tustin has an Electrical
Ordinance identical with that of the City of Santa Ana, and desires
to enforce the same. Carried and so ordered.
Motion by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Logan, that John
Stanton be apponted Assistant Electrical Inspector, Assistant Build-
ing Inspector and Assistant Plumbing Inspector, for the City of
Tustin, without additional compensaton, and that said John Stanton,
as said Assistant Inspector, be authorized and directed to make any
and all inspections for the City of Tustin required under the
ordinances of said City. Carried and so ordered.
Motion by Councilman Schwendeman, seconded by Counncilman Logan,
that bills be paid. Carried and so ordered.
Moved by Councilman Kiser, seconded by Councilman Logan, that this
meeting be adjourned to 7:30 P.M. on Monday, the 12th day of
December, 1932. Carried and so ordered.
