Shared that he had spoken with Jeff Thomas, who is doing much
better and is anxious to return to work.
Congratulated his Planning Commission colleagues for their action
being sustained on the Mobil sign; and, thanked staff for the follow-
up memorandum on that appeal.

the precedent of another sign which proved the Planning
Commission's point.

meeting earlier this evening and was pleased to see that the
Committee is meeting again.
Menard

Nielsen
Asked if there has been any progress regarding the old gas station
at Red Hill and San Juan.
Director
Answered that staff met with people quite some time ago who had
a development proposal, but nothing else has transpired.
Amante
Asked if that center was part of the grandfathering that was done
when the County was approving the Mobil station parcel.
Pontious
Indicated that was the reason many aspects of that site do not
comply with City codes.
Menard
Asked about the gas station at EI Camino Real and Newport
Avenue next to what was formerly Tustin Transmission.
Director
Stated staff is looking at a preliminary development proposal for
that site now, which also involves other property ownership
