HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 93-077 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 93-77 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, URGING ORANGE COUNTY CITIES, THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, OTHER PUBLIC AGENCIES AND THE PRIVATE SECTOR TO TAKE THE LEAD IN PROVIDING DISASTER RELIEF TO THE VICTIMS OF THE MIDWEST FLOODS The City Council of the City of Tustin hereby resolves as follows: WHEREAS, States along the Mississippi River have become victims of one of the worst natural disasters in United States history due to flooding; and WHEREAS, the Mississippi River and other'rivers in eight Midwestern states have overflowed causing major flooding; and WHEREAS, the flooding has caused billions of dollars of property damage and the deaths of persons; and WHEREAS, in times of agencies and the private assistance to the victims, disasters, individuals, public sector ban together to provide NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, calls upon and urges, all Orange County cities, the County of Orange, other public agencies and the private sector to coordinate their efforts in providing relief to the victims of the Midwest floods. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that efforts to provide disaster relief be directed through the Red Cross and the Midwest Flood Relief Fund. PASSED AND ADOPTED, at a regular meeting of the City Council for the City of Tustin on this 19th day of July , 1993.
