GRAD NIGHT FUNDING
SUMMARY:
Tustin High School and Foothill High School are requesting a $2,500 donation each
from the City to support Grad Nite Activities.
RECOMMENDATION:
Pleasure of the Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total donation of $5,000 is not currently identified as funded in the 2003-2004 FY
Budget.
BACKGROUND:
Mayor Tony Kawashima was approached by Tustin High School for Grad Nite Support
and requested this item be placed on the agenda. Councilmember Jeff Thomas was
approached by Foothill High School and requested this item be placed on the agenda.
Requests from each high school have taken place since 1989. Grad Nite activities at
each school will be held on June 17, 2004, from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
The Grad Nite Committees at each high school are made up of parent volunteers. The
committees need help to provide graduation celebrations for over 800 graduating
seniors in our community. Rick Robbins, from Foothill High School, will be in
attendance at the Council meeting to answer any questions.
