HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT SUBJECT: SALARY RESOLUTION FOR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES SUMMARY: Adoption of the attached Resolution will authorize salary adjustments for unrepresented part-time employee classifications. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 07-25 amending the City's Classification and Compensation Plan and granting salary increases to the City's unrepresented part-time employee classifications. FISCAL IMPACT: Approximately $5,000 for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2006-07. BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: The City has two (2) types of part-time employee classifications: represented regular part-time employees and unrepresented temporary and seasonal part-time employees. Regular part-time classifications are represented by the employee organization that represents full-time employees in the same classification. Temporary and seasonal part-time employees are not represented by an association or labor organization. This Resolution applies only to employees in unrepresented temporary and seasonal part-time classifications. The salary adjustment provided in this Resolution is consistent with the direction previously provided by Council for temporary and seasonal part-time classifications that have a full-time counterpart. Not all temporary and seasonal part-time classifications are recommended for a salary adjustment in this Resolution. Unrepresented part-time employee classifications do not receive benefits. We anticipate the costs associated with this Resolution can be absorbed by current departmental budgets. As such, no budget adjustment is necessary. ~/lee4~ Kristi Recchia Director of Human Resources Attachment: Resolution 07-25 RESOLUTION NO. 07-25 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN RELATING TO SALARY FOR UNREPRESENTED PART-TIME EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATIONS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: DEFINITION A Part-time employee is defined as employee in a position having a work week of fewer hours than the full work week established for a full-time position in the class.
