HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: CITY CLERK'S OFFICE SUBJECT: COMMISSION COMPENSATION SUMMARY: At their meeting on April 3, 2007, the City Council approved compensation increases for members of the Planning Commission and Community Services Commission (formerly the Parks and Recreation Commission). RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 07-40. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no significant budget impact related to these increases. BACKGROUND: The last increase provided for was on December 6, 1999. On February 20, 2007 the City Council realigned commission duties and on April 3, 2007 requested an increase for Planning and Community Services Commissioners. The approved increases are as follows and will become effective May 1, 2007. • Planning Commission Increase to $150.00 per meeting • Community Services Commission Increase to $100.00 per meeting Adoption of a resolution is required by the City Council to document increases for auditing and historical purposes. ~'~~.- f Maria Huizar Chief Deputy City Clerk RESOLUTION N0.07-40 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE COMPENSATION FOR PLANNING COMMISSION, COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION MEMBERS WHEREAS, The City Council recognizes the additional duties given to the Planning Commission and Community Services Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that in addition to recognition, the members of the Planning Commission and Community Services Commission should receive compensation to assist in part for the numerous hours of service they provide to the Tustin community; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, hereby determines as follows: SECTION 1. That each member of the Planning Commission shall receive the sum of $150.00 for each meeting attended. SECTION 2. That each member of the Community Services Commission shall receive the sum of $100.00 for each meeting attended. SECTION 3. That the foregoing compensations will become effective May 1, 2007.
