SUBJECT: SET INTERVIEW DATE FOR VACANCY ON PLANNING COMMISSION
SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting that the City Council set a date and time to conduct interviews to fill an
unexpired term on the Planning Commission.
RECOMMENDATION:
Pleasure of the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:

BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of Brett Floyd, a vacancy now exists on the Planning
Commission. A public notice that the City Council is seeking candidates to serve on
said commission was published on the City's website, posted on the City's posting
boards, and a press release was sent to the Tustin News. The information released
included a brief description of qualifications, duties, and meeting time.
Applications are due in the City Clerk's. Office on or before September 25, 2007 and will
be distributed to Council as they are received. The final step in the selection process
will be the interview and appointment of a commissioner. Staff recommends that
Council set October 2"d as the date to hold interviews and make a selection.

now accepting applications to
fill a position on the Planning
Commission.
Applications and resumes
must be submitted to the City
Clerk's Office by 5:30 p.m.
on Tuesday, September 25,
2007.
The City Council will be
scheduling a date and time in
which they will interview and
make an appointment.
Position Available:
PLANNING COMMISSION: One position on the Planning
Commission is available due to a resignation. The commissioner
selected will serve until March 1, 2008 or until the respective
successor is appointed and qualified.
The Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth
Tuesday of each month to evaluate development proposals and
submit recommendations to the City Council regarding land use
matters in the City. The term of this office is for a partial term to
expire on March 1, 2008. Compensation is $100.00 per regular
meeting. Applicants are required to be registered voters in the City of
Tustin.
