AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
TUSTIN AREA SENIOR CENTER
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council at their December 7, 1987 regular meeting, adopt Resolution No.
87-143 approving plans and specifications for the Tustin Area Senior Center, and
authorize staff to advertise for bids.
BACKGROUND:
The Tustin Area Senior Center Fund Raising Campaiqn was officially kicked off at
the City's Fourth of July celebration. The goal of $800,000 nearly has been met.
This project has taken four years to develop. The plans have been carefully
reviewed by the appropriate City Departments and the various grants
administrations, and the project is ready to go to bid.
Estimated construction cost for this project is $1.9 million. The City of Tustin
has been awarded over $1 million in grant monies from state and federal agencies.
The fund raising efforts will continue, and the project must break ground by May
1988 in order not to jeopardize a major portion of the grant funds.
Listed below is the estimated time table for construction.
