SET INTERVIEW DATE FOR AUDIT COMMITTEE VACANCY
SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting that the City Council set a date and time to conduct interviews to fill a
vacancy on the Audit Committee due to the resignation of Steve Kozak.
RECOMMENDATION:
Pleasure of the City Council.

BACKGROUND:
Information was made available to the public through advertisements in The Tustin
News, the Orange County Register, the City's website, and posting boards that the City
Council was seeking candidates interested in serving on the Audit Committee.
As of May 12, 2004, the City Clerk's Office has received one application from Lynda
Jenkins. Any additional applications received by staff after the preparation of this
agenda report will be provided to the City Council at the meeting of May 17, 2004.
The final step in the selection process would be completion of ballots by the City
Council, which has been tentatively scheduled for the meeting on June 7, 2004.

I recently located to Tustin after living and working in Los Angeles County for many years. I
chose Tustin over all the other Orange County cities for its unique qualities and location. I
enjoy living here and want to make a contribution as a resident, homeowner and registered
voter to become an active participant in the community.
2.Please list your background and experience you feel qualifies you for the position:
I have worked in the public sector for many years and have a graduate degree in Public
Administration. Currently I work for the city of Costa Mesa, in the finance department. I can
provide some unique insights and experiences in municipal budgeting, which may be different
from other members on the Committee.
3.Please list professional organizations on which you have served:
I have been a member of the American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP), and am
currently a member of Grant$ Central Station in Los Angeles, I was a member of the American
Association of Graduate Admission Professionals, and was a member of Toastmasters
International for several years.

I am on the Board of Directors of Info Link Orange County as the co-chairman of their
fundraising committee. I am also the staff liaison on the Costa Mesa Community Foundation.
My current full-time position is with the City of Costa Mesa as the city's Grant Administrator.
