CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
415 W. SIXTH STREET
FEBRUARY 16, 1990
In accordance with Ordinance 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988
by the City Council, the Director of Community Development has the
authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny a
Certificate of Appropriateness for improvements requiring building
permits for property located within the Cultural Resources Overlay
District.
The following findings are required before a Certificate of
Appropriateness is issued:
1. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design
standards which may be established from time to time by the
Cultural Resources Committee.
2. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of
the District -'of Designated Cultural Resources within the
District.
3. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings.
The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of
appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placements,
and use of new buildings or structures in relation to existing
buildings and structures and the surrounding setting.
The Director of Community Development has reviewed the proposed
project to relocate an existing residence located at 640 W. First
Street to the subject site at 415 W. Sixth Street and construct a
detached 3 -car garage and has determined that the proposed
improvements are consistent with the above provisions, and
therefore, approves a Certificate of Appropriateness, subject to
the conditions of approval stated in Exhibit A of Design Review 89-
53 (Thompson).
