SUBJECT: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR RESIDING RESIDENCE AT
425 W. SIXTH STREET
Dear Mr. Mosqueda:
In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001, which was adopted June 20,
1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director
has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny
Certificate of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City
building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource
District.
The following findings are required before a Certificate of
Appropriateness is issued:
1. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design
standards which may be established from time to time by the
Cultural Resources Committee;
2. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of
the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the
District; and
3. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings.
The .extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of
appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement
and use of a new building or structure in relationship to
existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting.
The Community Development Director has reviewed the proposed plans
and approves a Certificate of Appropriateness for residing the
residence with vinyl siding at the above noted property, subject to
the following condition:
1. The vinyl siding shall have a wood grain texture. Untextured
siding is not permitted.
It has been determined that as conditioned, the proposed residing
would be in conformance with the above requirements in that the
proposed residing would be harmonious with existing surroundings.
