CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS

REPLACEMENT OF TWO WINDOWS AT A RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE

In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted
June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community
Development Director has the authority to approve,
approve with conditions or deny Certification of
Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City
building permit for property located within a Cultural
Resource District.
The following findings are required before a Certificate
of Appropriateness is issued:
a. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code
and design standards which may be established from
time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee.
b. The proposed work does not adversely affect the
character of the District or Designated Cultural
Resources within the District.
C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing
surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be
evaluated in terms of appropriateness of materials,
scale, size, height, placement and use of a new
building or structure in relationship to existing
buildings and structures and the surrounding
setting.

The Community Development Department has reviewed the proposed
replacement of two rear -facing louvered windows with two wood or
vinyl frame double hung windows at a residential structure and has
determined that the proposal is in conformance with the above
requirements. The proposed vinyl or wood frame double hung windows
are similar in appearance to the existing double hung windows found
elsewhere on the structure and are appropriate for the subject
building. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the
following conditions:
1. Prior to the start of the window replacement, the
applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all
applicable plan check and permit fees.
2. The size of the replacement double hung windows shall
match the size of the existing louvered windows.
