355 WEST 6TH STREET
CONSTRUCTION OF AN ACCESSORY STRUCTURE

In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City
Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with
conditions or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit
for property located within a Cultural Resource District.
The project involves the construction of a small (approximately 130 square feet) detached
accessory structure to be used as a storage shed. The structure will be sited in the rear of the lot,
set back approximately 300 feet from West 6th Street. The structure will be stuccoed to match the
existing structures on the property.
The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows:
A. The subject property is a B -rated Tudor Revival structure as documented by the Tustin
Historical Resources Survey.
B. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and TCC Section 8100 et seq in that in
that the proposed construction would conform to all Uniform Building Code requirements,
as adopted by the Tustin City Code.
C. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of designated cultural
resources in the vicinity and is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the
construction materials will match as closely as possible the existing materials on the
residence and detached garage. Further, the subject lot is extremely deep and the
proposed structure is not visible from public rights-of-way.
The project is hereby approved, subject to the following condition:
The construction materials shall match those used on the existing residence and detached
garage to the greatest extent feasible and all metal flashing shall be painted to match the
existing residence and garage.
