CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
675 W. THIRD STREET
In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City
Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions,
or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements on a property located within the Cultural
Resource District. The proposed additions include a low wooden deck and attached, white
railing directly in front of the house, a forty-two (42) foot long, fourteen (14) inch high planter
at the front property line with landscaping in and around the planter area, and replacement of
the existing front windows with divided white vinyl windows. The east property line block
wall will also be stucco -finished and capped with brick pavers.
The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows:
A. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated
Cultural Resources within the District in that the proposed repair work will improve the
property with features consistent with the building architecture.
B. The proposed work is harmonious with 'existing surroundings in that the proposed hardscape,
landscape, and deck additions are consistent with the style of the existing house.
C. Maintaining the house in its original condition and enhancing the landscaping and hardscape
elements will contribute to the overall aesthetics of the property.
The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions:
Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain any necessary building permits and
pay all applicable plan check and permit fees.
2. Any replacement or repair of any existing features shall match the existing materials, finish,
and colors of the existing structure.
