SUBJECT: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE RE -ROOFING OF A
NON-CONTRIBUTING RF,SIDERCE AT 695 WEST MAIN STREET
Dear Sir:
In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 2.0,
1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director
has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny
Certification of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City
building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource
District.
The following findings are required bef.�'.�= � Certificate of
Appropriateness is issued:
a. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design
standards which may be established from time to time by the
Cultural Pesources Committee.
b. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of
the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the
District.
C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings.
The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of
appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement
and use of a new building or structure in relationship to
existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting.
The Community Development Director has reviewed the after -the -fact
re -roof for the above-mentioned residence and has determined t1 -at
the proposed fiberglass composition shingle roofing is n
conformance with the above requirements. The proposed r, of
material is consistent with existing conditions and is appropriate
for the residence.

Because the work was begun prior to obtaining d building permit, a
stop -work order was issued, and penalty fees will be assessed when
the permit is pulled.
The re -roofing is hereby approved subject to the following
condition:
Prior to the continuation of any roofing work, the applicant
shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan
check and permit fees, including penalty fees pursuant to
Section 304(e) of the Uniform Administrative Code.
