APRIL 2, 2001 ~ OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSION/COMMITTEE MEMBERS SUMMARY: The City Council will cast ballots to appoint members to the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Audit Committee. RECOMMENDATION: Cast ballots to determine appointments for the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Audit Committee. BACKGROUND: On April 2, 2001, at 5:00 p.m., the City Council will conduct interviews to fill Commission/Committee vacancies. The following candidates have submitted their applications and are seeking appointment to the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Audit Committee: PLANNING COMMISSION (5 vacancies) - Two (2) vacancies for 1-year terms expiring on March 1, 2002, and three (3) vacancies for 2-year terms expiring on March 1, 2003. All applicants meet the qualification of being a registereci voter in the City: Cheryl Bell, Doug Davert, Andrew Hamilton, Ron Jauregui, Linda Jennings, Steve Kozak, Bemard Miller, and Leslie Pontious. PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION (7 vacancies) - three (3) vacancies for 1-year terms expiring on March 1, 2002, and four (4) vacancies for 2-year terms expiring on March 1,2003. All applicants meet the qualification of being a Tustin resident: Allen Amundson, Don Biery, Elaine Dove, Todd Ferguson, Ginny Hovland, Cynthia Ignatuk, Stephen Melvin, Adrian Morton, Henry Nunez, and Michael Thompson. AUDIT COMMITTEE (5 vacancies) - Two (2) vacancies for 1-year terms expiring on March 1, 2002, and three (3) vacancies for 2-year terms expiring on March 1, 2003. Of the 5 member committee, four (4) are required to be registered voters in the City and one (1) a registered voter within the Tustin Water Corporation area. Applicants meet the qualifications: R. Lawrence Friend (registered voter in the City), John Garner (registered voter in the City), Richard Hilde (registered voter within the Tustin Water Corporation area), Stephen Melvin (registered voter in the City), and Donnie Smith (registered voter in the City).
