HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 98-0911 2 RESOLUTION NO. 98-91 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY z~ OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN 5 '6 7 WHEREAS, the City adopted a Classification Plan in 1984, by adopting Resolution No. 98-91; and WHEREAS, it is desireable and appropriate to revise and update the 9 Classification Plan when appropriate; 10 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does 1_ 1-hereby resolve that the Classification Plan of the City of Tustin, dated August 20, 1984, is hereby amended to include the classification of Senior Center Van Driver, ]2 as outlined in the attached job description. 13 Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Tustin City Council held on ] 4 the 19th day of October, 1998. 16/'/'bpmasR~.lt areIll, Mayor 18 19 ATTEST: 22 Pamela Stoker, City Clerk 23 S:BMCXAmendClassRes 25 26 27 28 CITY OF TUSTIN Class Specification Job Title: Senior Center Van Driver (Temporary/Part-time) Supervisor' s Title: Recreation Supervisor Jobs Supervised: None Definition: This is a temporary/part-time position. Must be able to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. tmtil 3:00 p.m., but should be flexible to accommodate other hours as needed. The work schedule for this position is limited to approximately 19 hours per week. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Operates a mini-bus to provide transportation for senior citizens to and from their homes and the Tustin Area Senior Center and to medical facilities and ~hopping locations. 2. Assists passengers on and off the van.' 3. Operates wheelchair lift. 4. Maintains records and data on passengers. 5. Manages transport money. 6. Prepares reports for the Senior Center Coordinator. 7. Schedules trips. .. 8. Cleans interior and exterior of vehicle and performs other related duties as required. The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work preformed by employees assigned to this job classification. Qualifications Guidelines: Experience/Training/Education: Six months experience driving a commercial transportation vehicle. Eighth grade level education or equivalent required, high school diploma or general education degree (GED) desirable. Knowled~_e: Methods, materials and equipment used in commercial vehicular transport; safe driving and work practices. Ability to maintain a pleasant and courteous relationship with those people being transported. Must have the ability to read a Thomas Brothers Map Book. Special Requirements/Certification: A valid California Class B license and a current medical certificate required. Applicants must also possess a good driving record, which will be verified with the DMV through a background investigation. Physical Requirements: Good health, ability to perform in a position that is occasionally strenuous, involving lifdng, pushing and pulling. Incumbents are subject to random drug testing. Sit to operate motor vehicle to transport passengers and travel to and from Senior Center and various work locations; turn or twist in seat to operate van. and assist passengers; push, ptfil or assist passengers in wheel chairs or with other disabilities; siftstand tocomplete work records; sit to operate vehicle mounted radio equipment; walk to doors of passengers to assist passengers on or off van; walk to place or pick up traffic safety cones or barriers if needed; push, pull, twist to assist passengers into or out of the van as needed; reach above or below shoulder level to pick up or place materials/supplies within van or storage areas; push accelerator pedal and brake pedal with the right or left foot, or by using an extension devise, to drive van to and from sites; lift and carry supplies weighring 30 pounds; detect approaching vehicular or pedestrian traffic; read and understand work orders or service requests; detect the sound of approaching vehicular or pedestrian traffic; exposure to heat and direct sunlight, rain, win&, humidity and adverse conditions. Climb, stoop, crouch, reach or twist to clean interior/exterior of van.
