Parker, City Manager; David E. Kendig, City Attorney PUBLIC INPUT — None CLOSED SESSION UPDATE — City Attorney David E. Kendig: The Council will convene to discuss Items 1-2 on the Closed Session Agenda. CLOSED SESSION ITEMS - The Brown Act permits legislative bodies to discuss certain matters without members of the public present. The City Council finds, based on advice from the City Attorney, that discussion in open session of the following matters will prejudice the position of the City in existing and anticipated litigation: 1. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL—ANTICIPATED LITIGATION -Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9(d)(2): (1 case) 2. Lindburgh McPherson REGULAR BUSINESS ITEM NO. 1 1. CONSIDERATION OF ALTERNATIVE LOCATIONS FOR TEMPORARY EMERGENCY HOMELESS SHELTER City Manager Jeffrey C. Parker provided a PowerPoint presentation. This item seeks input from the public and the City Council regarding potential _ alternative locations for the temporary emergency homeless shelter currently planned at the Northeast corner of Redhill Avenue and Valencia Avenue. Mohammed Aly It was moved by Councilmember Lumbard and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Bernstein to direct staff to return to the December 18, 2018 City Council meeting with a report for both sites (The Former Army Reserve Site and The Vacant Property at the Corner of Warner and Armstrong) including operational details, costs, timelines and distance from Heritage Elementary School.
