BACKGROUND
The City Council adopted Resolution No. 18-72 approving the plans, specifications and
authorized/directed the City Clerk to advertise for bids on October 18, 2018.
The Frontier Park Trail and Irrigation Project at the corner of Mitchell Avenue and Utt Drive consists
of new landscaping, updating irrigation, and a decomposed granite access road/trail. The Frontier
Park Trail improvements have been designed as an access corridor with passive recreation areas.
The project involves replacing the landscape and irrigation to improve coverage and efficiency. The
access road will provide a functional and aesthetically pleasing route for Police Department ingress
and egress, while providing a designated area for patrons to use as a walking path.

The typical service life for an irrigation system is 25-30 years and Frontier Park was built in 1975.
Numerous individual projects have been completed over the years requiring multiple modifications to
the irrigation system to accommodate each project accordingly.
The new irrigation design accounts for the amenities within the park and corrects problems associated
with the construction of the projects mentioned above.
