Public Safety –Homeless Problem
•OC Sheriff’s patrolling riverbed trail since September, 2017, Clear
in 2018
•Resident complaints have grown stronger and louder•Conditions unsafe and unsanitary for people living in
encampments and nearby residents.
•Removal of homeless encampments began November 2017,
January 2018
o 315 tons of trash and debris since August, 2017.
o 4000 pounds or TWO TONS of biohazardous waste.
o 4,600 hypodermic needles !!
o OCPW already spent approx. $700k of new $1-million trash
contract since August 1.

JWA/FAA Flight Pattern Settlement
•JWA Flight Pattern Agreement
•Settlement of legal objections by the County of
Orange, along with the City of Newport Beach,
against the Federal Aviation Administration, to
prevent flight pattern variations around John Wayne
Airport is a significant victory for the residents of
Orange County.
