HomeMy WebLinkAboutORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION PRESENATION - 11.6.18November 6, 2018 Tustin City Council Dave Simpson Manager, OCTA Government Relations Keeping Orange County Moving OC Streetcar Project 2 I-405 Improvement Project •Adds one regular lane in each direction •Adds 405 Express Lanes •Improves freeway access & traffic on local streets •Total cost: $1.9 billion o $1.135 billion Measure M o $46 million federal funds o $90 million state funds o $629 million TIFIA loan OC Flex Program •One-year micro-transit pilot program •Goals: •Provide public transit in lower-demand areas •Reduce total operation and capital costs •Reduce vehicle miles traveled •Extend reach of OC Bus and Metrolink •Launching early Fall in two zones: •Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel & Mission Viejo •Huntington Beach/Westminster 4 SR-55 (I-405 to I-5) •Project F in OC Go •Adds one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction •Adds auxiliary lanes between interchanges •Improves mobility and reduces congestion •Total cost: $410.9 million •Construction set to begin in late 2020 I-5 Improvement Project (From I-405 to SR-55) •Project B in Measure M (now OC Go) •OCTA and Caltrans •Wrapping up Environmental Study Process •Public Hearings (Open House Format) in May 2018 •Tustin High School •Lakeview Senior Center •Build Alternative Proposes •Add general-purpose lane in each direction •Add auxiliary lanes between select on/off ramps •Increase ramp capacity •Convert HOV to continuous access •Seek to standardize lanes and shoulder widths •Next Steps: If alternative approved, then Final Design & Construction 6 Tustin --Measure M •Tustin has done well! •$38.87 from Measure M (since April 2011) •This includes $8.64 M in formula and $30.23 in competitive •$19.61 State and Federal funds •$58.48 combined Measure M and State and Federal Transportation Funds •Senior Mobility Program –More money AND 500 trips per month! 7
