Hi Scott,
If the city makes the revisions to the City's permit parking program to allow one permit, per residence, without
inspection, will all the permits that have already been given out have to be returned and everything starts over?
I know of at least one residence that has 4 permits and the property was never inspected.
Thanks,Ron

Thanks. I would love to be included in any workshop.
Two bedroom homes get the same one permit as a five bedroom. The diverse nature of Old Town
homes, versus typical tract homes, make a one size fits all decision a bit more difficult to understand. The long
driveways many of us have are certainly not present in tract homes making people use their garages is fine
with me. Just not counting driveways as spots.
Thanks again for keeping me up to date.

In regards to the parking permit changes, I ask that you consider removing the driveway from the equation, Driveways
are meant to be path from the street to the garage and not a parking lot. If you only considered the garage space, then
everyone would have enough permits for the number of cars they have without creating the musical car scenario
described by several residences at the meeting. Giving permits to homeowners and not outside people should be
important in the decision making process.
While giving everyone one permit alleviates a lot of problems, it does not help everyone concerned. Orange county is
expensive and many homes are for several generations and drivers,
Thank you

Who comes up with this? One permit may benefit some, but one size fits all seems a bit short sighted. I have
a 5 bedroom house, and 5 cars my neighbor has a two bedroom house and 4 cars. Somehow one permit each
addresses this?
Is there any type of work group we can get involved with? I will email the Council as well. Thanks for
sending this, I know the residents will show up to try and continue to get a better solution.

Thanks again for helping address the Old Town Parking Permit issue.
I would request that the one permit per home be expanded to allow homeowners the ability to present their
hardship cases. The diverse nature of Old Town makes it somewhat unique. Two bedroom homes next door to
five bedroom homes, long narrow driveways in many cases, one car garages and three car garages....even no
garages. All of this makes the permit process much different than a typical housing tract.
I think that driveways not being counted as parking spots would be an easier solution, counting garage spots
would suffice. In most cases this would allow the residents to get the needed permits without even presenting
hardships.
I realize certain areas of Old Town have a greater problem than others. I have no issue with the permits, only
like many other, I am not able to get them to park in front of my home. Three cars in our garage and four in the
long narrow driveway is what was determined for our property, before we can get any permits.
I appreciate your time and efforts in this matter.
Sincerely,
Brent Evans

Brent,
There will be a workshop at a future date when other ideas can be explored, but you will be able to address the Council
at this time if that is your preference. Many residents asked for one guaranteed permit, but I know there are others
who would like to have more than one permit or who would like the permit parking in Old Town to be discontinued.
