HUIZAR, CHIEF DEPUTY CITY CLERK SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION OF PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION VACANCY SUMMARY: The City Council will consider applications received and may decide to appoint a member to the Parks and Recreation Commission to fill the unexpired term of Ginny Hovland. RECOMMENDATION: Pleasure of the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT: None BACKGROUND: On October 20, 2004 the City Council received a resignation letter from Ginny Hovland who was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Council requested that appointment to said vacancy be considered at the December 6, 2004 meeting. The following candidates have submitted their applications and are seeking appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission: Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of five (5) members who shall residents of the City of Tustin. Terms are for two (2) years; maximum of 3 term limit. This vacancy is to fill the un-expired term of Ginny Hovland whose term would have expired on March 1, 2006. My last meeting with the Commission will be on Wednesday, November 14,2004 as lwill henceforth be ineligible to serve due to a change of address. it has been an immense pleasure serving the City of Tustin and i thank you for the opportunity to work in this community that I have loved and adopted as my own. The three terms that I have served have been educational, productive and overall rewarding. The recent passing of my mother has forced me to addressfamily matters that must be resolved in the near future and will not allow me the time to maintain two households efficiently. Again, thank you for the opportunity which has been afulfilling experience to say the least.
