BACKGROUND: Due to term expirations, three vacancies on the Cultural Resources Advisory Committee have become available. A public notice was published in the Tustin News, advertised on the City's website, and posted on the Tustin City Hall posting board that the City Council was seeking candidates interested in serving on the Cultural Resources Advisory Committee. The information included the number of vacancies, required qualifications, compensation, and duties. At this time only one individual has submitted an application, which is attached for City Council review. Staff will re-advertise the notice in the Tustin News and contact individuals who have shown interest in serving the City on the committee. In addition, the deadline for filing applications will be extended to 5:30 p.m. on July 5, 2001. The following individual submitted an application for the Cultural Resources Advisory Committee (three vacancies, term expires on July 18, 2005): Gary Smith Any additional applications received by staff after the preparation of the agenda will be provided to the City Council at their meeting on June 18, 2001. Set the date and time to conduct interviews to fill vacancies on the Cultural Resources Advisory Committee. WILLIAM A.
