HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 98-30 RESOLUTION NO. 98-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PROPOSED USE OF FISCAL YEAR 1998-99 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK 4 GRANT FUNDS FOR INCLUSION IN THE ONE-YEAR ACTION PLAN. 5 6 WHEREAS, under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, Federal assistance may be provided for the support of community development ? activities which are directed toward certain specific objectives as set forth in the Act as the 8 Community Development Grant (CDBG) Program; and 9 WHEREAS, on February 18, 1998 a public hearing was held by the Ad Hoc Citizen Participation Committee to obtain and consider citizen's views on-the use of Fiscal Year 1998- ~0 99 CDBG funds as related to goals and objectives of the Consolidated Plan; and 1] WHEREAS, during the February 18, i998 public hearing, citizens were furnished with ~- information concerning the CDBG Program, the range of eligible activities, and the proposed ~3 use' of funds; and WHEREAS, a staff report has been prepared' transmitting to the City Council recommended funding priorities and amount for proposed projects for the City's participation in the 1998-99 .CDBG program; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the City Council on April 20, 1998to respond to questions and comments on the proposed use of CDBG funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council evaluated funding priorities and amounts based on recommendations of the Citizen Participation Committee, public testimony received during the hearing and the amount of the City's grant; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Tustin resolves :2,! as follows: 22 Section 1: The City of Tusti n's proposed use of CDBG funds for Fiscal Year 1998-99 23 is hereby approved in the order of prioritization identified by Council at their hearing of April ' 24 2_0, 1998, and in Exhibit A of this Resolution. :2`5Section 2: Staff is hereby directed to include the proposed use of CDBG Funds for Fiscal Year 1998-99 in the One Year Action Plan to be submitted to the U.S. Department of 26 Housing and Urban Development. 27 Section 3: The Director of Community Development is authorized to execute such :2`8 documents, certifications, contracts, or other instruments as may be required to carry out the :2`9 City's Community Development Block Grant Program.
