APPROVAL OF PLANS & SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FRONTIER PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT
SUMMARY:
The scope of work includes the demolition and disposal of existing play equipment and the
purchase and installation of new equipment.
RECOMMENDATION'
The City Council adopt the attached Resolution No. 01-39 approving plans and specifications
for play equipment at Frontier Park, and authorizing the' City Clerk to advertise for bids.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project will be funded through a Community Development Block Grant 2000-2001
allocation. The total allocation for Frontier Park Phase II was $71,542 (21-999-9530-2047).
The estimated cost for play equipment replacement is $48,000. The remainder of the allocation
will be used for painting, fencing; replacing Frisbee golf equipment and other improvements.
BACKGROUND:
The work to be performed is at Frontier Park, 1400 Mitchell Ave. The existing play equipment is
outdated and does not meet current regulations. The scope of work includes demolition and
disposal of existing play equipment and the purchase and installation of new equipment. The
Parks & Recreation Commission has reviewed and approved the design.

RESOLUTION NO. 01-39
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS FOR FRONTIER PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City of Tustin to replace the play equipment at Frontier Park; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Services Department has presented plans and specifications for the
construction of said works; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications presented by the Parks and
Recreation Services Department are hereby approved as the plans and 'specifications for; Frontier Park Play
Equipment;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as
required by law for the receipt and sealed bids or proposals for the completion of work specified in the aforesaid
plans and specifications;
