HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF CULTURAL RESOURCES ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS SUMMARY The City Council will cast ballots to apPoint members of the Cultural Resources Advisory Committee. RECOMMENDATION Cast ballots to determine appointments for the Cultural Resources Advisory Committee. BACKGROUND On July 16, 2001, at 6:00 p.m., the City Council will conduct interviews to fill Cultural Resources Advisory Committee vacancies. The following candidates have submitted applications and are seeking appointment for three vacancies: Alfred Brady (owns residential property in the District), Gary Brockman, Lucille Burch (resides in the District), William Christian, William Collins (resides in the District), Sue Gorman, Alice Houseworth, Ty Hurtado (resides in the District), Scot Lewis (resides in the District), 'Curt Lilly (resides in the District), Stephen Melvin, Melissa Schuetz (resides in the District), Gary Smith, and Delaine Whitehead. At least three members of the committee must reside or own residential property within the Cultural Resources District. Two current Cultural Resources Advisory Committee members live in the District. Staff recommends that one vacancy be filled by a candidate who lives or owns property in the Cultural Resources District.
