RESOLUTION NO. 89-183
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT 89-03, A REQUEST TO CHANGE THE
GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM P&I
(PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL) TO I (INDUSTRIAL)
ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTHEASTERLY OF
FUTURE JAMBOREE ROAD ADJACENT TO PETERS CANYON
WASH
The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby
resolve as follows:
I. The City Council finds and determines as follows-
A. Government Code Section 65356.1 provides that
when it is deemed to be in the pub 1 ic
interest, the .legislative body may amend a
part of the General Plan.
B. That a proper application has been filed on
behalf of the Irvine Industrial Company for
the purpose of reclassifying the General Plan
Land Use designation of the property located
southeasterly of future Jamboree Road adjacent
to Peters Canyon Wash from P&I (Public and
Institutional) to I (Industrial) and described
as Assessor's Parcel No. 434-061-014.
C. That a public hearing before the Planning
Commission to consider General Plan Amendment
89-03 was duly called, noticed and held on
November 13, 1989 at which time the Planning
Commission adopted Resolution No. 2700
recommending approval to the City Council on
said Amendment.
D. That a public hearing before the City Council
to consider General Plan Amendment 89-03 was
duly called, noticed and held on December 4,
1989.
E. Government Code Section 65358(b) states that
no mandatory element of a General Plan shall
be amended more frequently than four (4) times
per calendar year. This Amendment is the
third Amendment for the 1989 calendar year.
F.
This General Plan Amendment has been reviewed
in accordance with the California
Environmental Quality Act. It has been
determined that this project will not have a
significant effect on the environment and a
Negative Declaration has been prepared.
G ·
The proposed Industrial designation is in the
best interest of the public and surrounding
properties in 'that an Industrial designation
would allow greater land use compatibility
between the adjacent military operations,
future development in the city of Irvine and'
future extension of Jamboree Road.
H ·
The proposed General Plan Amendment is
consistent with other elements of the General
Plan, particularly the Land .Use Element.
II.
The City Council hereby approves General Plan
Amendment 89-03 as shown on Exhibit A attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference,
amending the General Plan Land Use designation from
P&I (Public and Institutional) to I (Industrial) on
the property located southeasterly of future
Jamboree Road adjacent to Peters Canyon"Wash.
