Home My WebLink AboutCC RES 98-101 RESOLUTION NO. 98-10 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, 4 AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS. 5 6 WHEREAS, 6overnment Code Section 34090 authorizes the head of a city 7 department to destroy any city record, document, instrument, book or paper, under his or her charge, without making a copy thereof, except for records 8 affecting title to real property or liens thereon, .court records, records less than two years old, records required to be kept by statute or ordinance, or resolutions 9 of the city council or other city boards or commissions, by resolution of the city council and the written consent of the city attorney; and 10 11 WHEREAS, the City Council upon the request of the Senior Personnel Analyst of the City of Tustin, desires to approve immediate destruction of certain 12 records, documents or papers as listed on the attachment hereto, comprising correspondence and other written information regarding legislation and the 13 tracking thereof used prior to 1993 in the former Administrative Services 14 Department and applications and testing materials for recruitments conducted from January 1, 1993 to December 3t, 1995, each of which is not less than two 15 (2) years old; and 16 WHEREAS, the City Attorney has filed her written consent with the Clerk of the council of the City of Tustin and a copy of such consent is attached hereto; 17 18 NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, hereby approves the immediate destruction of the records, 19 documents and papers listed on the attachment hereto which, as of this date, have been retained for a minimum of two (2) years. 20 PASSED AND ADOPTED itt a regular meeting of the City Council of the 21 City of Tustin on the second day of March, 1998. 23 S, MAYOR 24 ATTEST: 9.5 ~Cffy~ 26 ELA STOKER CLERK 27 28 1 CONSENT OF CITY ATTORNEY 2 I, the undersigned, Lois E. jeffrey, City Attorney of the City 3 of Tustin, California, do hereby consent to the destruction of the 4 materials described in the attached Resolution.
