HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 89-24RESOLUTION NO. 89-24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANS- PORTATION AND THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION TO 'REMOVE DIAMOND LANES FOR A TRIAL PERIOD The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows' WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the Orange County Transportation Commission (OCTC) have caused diamond lanes to be installed on freeways situated within Orange County; and WHEREAS, Caltrans and OCTC had committed to a trial peri od during which the effectiveness of diamond lanes would be evaluated; and 10 WHEREAS, Caltrans and OCTC have failed to substantiate the effectiveness of diamond lanes in reducing congestion on freeways. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Tustin, requests that Caltrans and OCTC remove diamond lanes in order that an analytic comparison can be made of traffic flow with and without diamond lanes. ,14 15 16 17 18 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the CitY Council of the City of Tustin, held on the 6th day of February, 1989 MAYOR ATTEST' 19 ~1 ~ ~CITY cLElj~K ...... 28 STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) § CITY OF TUSTIN ) MARY E.
