NAULT, FINANCE DIRECTOR SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION OF CLAIM OF Lindsay Marie Nelson, CLAIM NO. 05-15 SUMMARY: After review by the Finance Director and the City's Claims Administrator, it is recommended the City Council deny the claim. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council deny Ciaim Number 05-15, Lindsay Marie Nelson, and direct Staff to send notice thereof to the Claimant. FISCAL IMPACT: None. DISCUSSION: Ms. Nelson is a part-time City employee who works at the Columbus Tustin Activity Center. Ms. Nelson brought her personal collection of CD's to work and left them unattended in the facility office. Staff has determined that if the office is not locked or the service window is not secured the office could be accessible by the public. For these reasons Activity Center staff is generally advised not bring personal items to work. Staff recommends that the claim be denied. I am at this time unable to show receipts due to my collection starting ten years ago. Instead I found a majority of my CD collection along with the Artist and the albwn name from TowerRecords.com. I also included all of the replacement values to the CD's that I was able tofmd. Although several other CD's were included in my collection, I was unable to locate their values and therefore they are not included in this claim.
