HUSTON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY SUBJECT: CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTIES BY GRANT DEED TO THE TUSTIN COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY SUMMARY City Council approval is requested to convey title of six (6) properties by Grant Deed to the Tustin Community Redevelopment Agency. The properties are identified as follows: 1. 280-284 E. 3rd Street and 320-324 S. Preble Drive and 330-334 S. Preble (APN No. 401-593-01) 2. 300-304 E. 3rd Street (APN No. 401-592-01) 3. 325-329 S. Preble Drive (APN No. 401-592-11) 4. 335-339 S. Preble Drive (APN No. 401-592-12) The properties are further described on Attachments 1-4. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council authorize conveyance of six properties within the Town Center Redevelopment Project Area from the City of Tustin to the Tustin Community Redevelopment Agency, as identified on Attachments 1-4 and authorize the City Manager to execute any necessary conveyance documents subject to approval of all conveyance documents by the City Attomey. FISCAL IMPACT None at this time. The Redevelopment Agency may be responsible for future relocation, if any, of the existing tenants when a final disposition of the properties is determined. A portion of relocation expenses for at least three of the properties has already been appropriated by the Agency. William Huston, Executive Director Conveyance of Properties by Grant Deed June 20, 2005 Page 2 BACKGROUNDIDISCUSSION The City of Tustin initially took title to the six properties which were acquired for public purposes through eminent domain. The Redevelopment Agency has funded a large portion of acquisition costs associated with these properties and will operate properties until relocation activities are necessary under the continuation of the existing tenant leases.
