HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 88-120RESOLUTION NO. 88-120 A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING SURPLUS AND TRANSFERRING SURPLUS RADIO EQUIPMEN TO THE ORANGE COUNTY CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR USE IN CONNECTION WITH EMERGENCY SERVICES 1. The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, hereby finds and determines as follows: (a) The Police Department of the City of Tustin has a number of fire radios which no longer are useful because the frequencies on which they operate are no longer compatible with the radio frequencies now being used for fire reports. (b) The American Red Cross uses a radio frequency for disaster services which is close to the frequency of the aforesaid surplus radios and such radios can be readily modified to communicate on the American Red Cross disaster frequency. (c) The American Red Cross is part of the system which provides emergency services to the citizens of the City of Tustin and it can use these radios in the performance of its emergency services. (d) The subject radios are surplus to the City of Tustin and its uses, are obsolete and are no longer needed or usable by the Tustin Police Department and it would be reasonable for the City to transfer these radios to the American Red Cross for its use in the performance of its emergency services to the citizens of Tustin and surrounding, areas. · The City Council hereby resolves as follows- a. Said radios are hereby declared surplus and it is ordered that they are to be delivered to the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross for its use in the performance of emergency services in the City of Tustin and surrounding areas.
