HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 97-0931 2 3 4 5 6~' 7 8 9 10 I1 12 13 14 15 16 1? 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 97-93 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998-99 TRANSIT CAPITAL IIvIPROVEMENT FUNDS WHEREAS, Article XIX of the constitution of the State of California, Sections 199 and 199.2 of the Streets and Highways Code and Sections 99317 and 99317.1 of the Public Utilities Code provide for the funding of the Transit Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has established the procedures and criteria for reviewing funding applications and is required to submit to the California Transportation Commission a list of recommended projects from which the funding recipients will be selected; and WHEREAS, said procedures and criteria established by Caltrans require the applicant to authorize the filing of the application for funding; and WHEREAS, the City of Tustin, as the applicant, will enter into an agreement with the State of California to carry out the Transit Capital Improvement project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council: 1. Approves the filing of an application for the Transit Capital Improvement Program for funding assistance. 2. Certifies that said applicant will make adequate provisions for operation and maintenance of the project. 3. Appoints the City Engineer, as agent of the City of Tustin to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
