HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 87-156RESOLUTION NO. 87-156 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENT OF VARIOUS STREETS WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to improve First Street, Tustin Avenue, Yorba Street, and Jamboree Road within the limits listed below; and WHEREAS, these streets are important arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and 8 WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend 9 funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction, or repair of a street within a City; 10 and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, 11 provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1988-89 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in 12 accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. 123 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate 14 to said City from County Funds the amount of $706,000, said amount to be matched 'by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement 15 of the following streets in accordance with the attached project statement' 18 First Street, Intersection with Tustin Avenue ............ $109,000 Yorba Street, First Street to Irvine Boulevard .......... $110,000 Jamboree Road, Barranca Parkway to Edinger Avenue ....... $250,000 Yorba Street, Laurie Way to Santa Clara Avenue .......... $237,000 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said improvements on these streets, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. 20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Re~olution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1988-89.
