RESOLUTION N0. 87-141
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE CITY'S 1988-89
APPLICATION FOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF SUCH APPLICATION
TO THE COUNTY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1979, as
amended, Federal assistance may be provided for the support of Community
Development activities which are directed toward certain specific
objectives as set forth in the Act; and
WHEREAS, as a city with a population of less than 50,000 Tustin's
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Application is submitted and funds
are distributed by the County of Orange.
WHEREAS, the following steps were taken in preparation of the City's
1988-89 CDBG Application:
1. Citizens were furnished with information concerning the CDBG
Program, the range of eligible activities, and the proposed use
of funds through non-legal press releases and at a public
hearing held on December 7, 1987.
2. A public hearing to obtain the views of citizens on community
development and housing needs was held on December 7, 1987.
3. An application has been prepared for City's participation in the
1988-89 CDBG Program.
This information was publicized in such a manner to afford citizens
an opportunity to submit comments on the proposed use of funds and the
Community Development performance of the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the City's application "1988-89
Community Development Block Grant Application", was held on December 7,
1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Tustin's 1988-89 Application for Housing and Community
ev~opment funds, attached hereto as Exhibit A is hereby approved.

Section 2. The City Manager of the City of Tustin or his designated
representative is authorized to execute such documents,
certifications, contracts, or other instruments as may be required to
carry out the City's Community Development Block Grant Program.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall file a copy of said Application with the Minutes
of this City Council Meeting.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin on this 7
day of December 1987.
