HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 87-129 RESOLUTION NO. 87-129 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPING AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS WHEREAS, it is the intention 'of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, to contract for maintenance of landscaping for a three year period beginning January 1, 1988; and WHEREAS, THE City Engineer has presented specifications for accomplishing said work: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby approved as the specifications for' Maintenance of Landscaping, 1988-1990 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid specifications w~ich said adve'rtisement shall be substantially in the form as the attached NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS, entitled .Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin, held on the 2nd day of November , 1987. ATTEST' .. Mayor City C1 er~ SECTION A NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS EXHIBIT "A' SEALED PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the City Cler-k, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California 92680 until lO:OO A.M. on the 1st day of DECEMBER ,1987, at which time they will be publicly opened and read., for 'Performing work as follows: Maintenance of Landscaping for the three year period from January 1, 1988 to December 31, 1990 inclusive. Specifications and proposal fores to be used for bidding on this project can only be obtained by prospective bidders at the office ofl~he City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California 92680, upon paYment of $5.00 per set, or can be mailed upon payment of $7.50 per set; neither of which amount i s refundable. In conf. ormance with Section 37931 of the Government code, all bids sh'all be presented under sealed cover on the proposal form. provided and accompanied by bidder's security in the form of cash, cashier's check, certified check or bid bond executed by an accredited surety. -The security shall be for an amount no less than $10,000. 'A bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed therewith. A Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of $100,000 and a Labor anO Materials Payment Bond in the amount of $100,000 in the form attached to the contract documents shall be provided. Said bonds shall be issued by a surety compa.~y rated Grade A or better and Class IV or better by the latest edition of Best's Key Rating Guide. The City of Tustin reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and/or waive any informality on a bi'd. After bids are opened, no bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. Prior to bid opening, bidder may withdraw his bid. Bids received after the bid opening time and date stated herein will be returned to bidder unopened. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder.. Prior to contract award, the successful bidder shall possess a valid State of California · contractor' $ 1 i cerise i n the cl assi fi cati on of C27. The City of Tustin has obtained from the Director of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft or type of work needed and a copy of the same is on file in the office of the City Engineer. Not less than said prevailing rates shall be paid to workers employed on this public works contract as required by Labor Code Sections 1771 and 1774 of the State of California.
