RESOLUTION NO. 87-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, MAKING
APPLICATION FOR THE "ISLAND" ANNEXATION OF
TERRITORY KNOWN AS PROSPECT/VANDENBERG
ANNEXATION NO. 141
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tustin on Its own ~n°tion has
initiated preliminary proceedings for the annexation of certain inhabited
territory; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tustin has the ability to extend the full range
of municipal services to the subject territory to better serve the needs of
the residents of the area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on March 16, 1987 did adopt a resolution of
application for annexation of the subject territory to the City of Tustin;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the proposed annexation
is a Categorical Class 19 exemption from the requirements of CEQA;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Tustin, California that- .
1. The proposal for the Prospect/Vandenberg Annexation No. 141 to
the City of Tustin is made pursuant to Part 3, Chapter 1 of the
Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985.
2. The proposed change of organi-zation consists of the annexation
of 59.746 acres of inhabited "island" territory, surrounded by
the incorporated limits of the City of Tustin, and the County of
Orange, and said territory will derive benefits of full
municipal services as a result of the annexation.
3. The subject territory is bounded by Vandenberg Avenue on the
north, Prospect Avenue on the east, current city boundary on the
west and Sherbrook Lane on the south.
4. The proposed annexation is made for the purpose of increasing
the economy and effi ci ency of government services by
incorporating territory within the City's sphere of influence.
5. The applicatlon for annexati.on is submitted by the City Council
of the City of Tustin on its own motion along with a request
from various owners in the area.

6. The Local .Agency Formation Commission is hereby requested to
undertake annexation proceedings pursuant to Pa~t 2', Chapter' 3
of the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Ac~ of 1985.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Tusttn, California on the 16th day of March , 1987.

That portion of the land allotted to Teodocio Yorba,
as described in the Final Decree of Partition of the Rancho
Santiago de Santa Aha, in the Unincorporated Territory of
the County of Orange, State of California, which Decree was
entered September 12, 1868, in Book B, page 410 of
Sudgmente of the District Court of the 1?th Judicial
District in and for Los Angeles County· California,

described as follows:
BEGINNING at an angle point in the e~isting boundary
line of the City of Tustin as established by the "Prospect-
Irvine-Newport Annexation No. 6B {Revised)·" said angle
point being on the centerline of Prospect Avenue at the
westerly terminus of that certain course described as "S.
89° 45' 35" W.· 1216.06 feet" in said Annexation, and said
point also being described therein as the southwesterly
corner o.~ Tract No. 2020 per map recorded in Book 71, pages
46 and 47 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said Orange
County, California
Thence along said existing boundary line of the City
of Tustin as established by said "Prospect-Irvine-Newport
Annexation No. 68 {Revised}," by the "Marvin E. Lawrence
Annexation·" by the "Yorba Street Annexation," by the
"Seventeenth Street-Prospect Avenue Annexation No. 61
(Revised)," and by. the "Meredith Annexation No. 69," in a
general southerly· westerly, northerly, easterly and .
