A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN
CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE ARTWORK AS RECOMMENDED BY THE
PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE AND AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH THE
RESPECTIVE ARTISTS
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 18-17 establishing a City of
Tustin Public Art Policy to commission public art; and
WHEREAS, the Public Art Fund includes an allocation of $15,000 for public art;
and
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals was published and the Public Art
Committee reviewed and discussed each proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Public Art Committee has made recommendations to the City
Council with regards to approving the artwork submitted by five artists for nine planter
boxes on Main Street and El Camino Real in Old Town Tustin as set forth in the
accompanying staff report.
_ NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin
hereby approves the artwork recommended by the Parks and Recreation Department
and authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreation to execute agreements with the
individual artists as recommended by the Public Art Committee in a total amount not to
exceed $2,700; and
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Tustin held on the 3rd day of March 2020.
