WEST, CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: MODIFICATION OF THE SCHEDULE OF THE REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION. SUMMARY: Consider revising the schedule of regular meetings of the Tustin Planning Commission. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council adopt Resolution Number 20-22 approving a modified schedule of regular meetings of the Planning Commission. BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: On March 20, 2020, the City Council adopted Resolution Number 20-16 establishing weekly meetings of the City Council every Tuesday evening. Resolution Number 20-16 was also intended to reschedule Planning Commission meetings to occur on the second Monday of each month. However, Resolution Number 20-16 included a clerical error which rescheduled the Planning Commission meetings to Tuesdays rather than Mondays as intended. As a result, City Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution correcting this clerical error and rescheduling Planning Commission meetings to occur on the second Monday of each month. Resolution No. 20-22 1483698.1 30 RESOLUTION NO. 20-22 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MODIFIED SCHEDULE OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION WHEREAS, on March 20, 2020, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 20-16, approving a modified schedule of regular meetings of the City Council and Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 20-16 was intended to reschedule the Planning Commission meetings for the second Monday of each month; however, through clerical error the meetings were inadvertently rescheduled to occur on the second Tuesday of each month. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 : The above recitals are true and correct, and are incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2: Regular meetings of the Planning Commission shall occur on the second Monday of each month except State Holidays, commencing on Monday, May 11 , 2020. The meeting shall commence at 6:00 p.m. SECTION 3: For purposes of the Brown Act, the address for the meetings will be at the Council Chambers at Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, CA 92780. However, the Planning Commission and City staff are encouraged to participate in the meetings electronically, not in-person. Until the City's proclamation of emergency is terminated, members of the public shall observe and participate in the Planning Commission meetings electronically, not in-person. SECTION 4: If any section or provision in this Resolution is invalidated, all other provisions shall survive, and in that respect the provisions herein are severable. SECTION 5: The revised meeting schedule set forth herein is necessary to the protection of public health, safety and welfare in light of the City's Proclamation of Local Emergency. This Resolution shall supersede the Planning Commission meeting schedules set forth in the Tustin City Code and Resolution No. 20-16 until this Resolution is terminated or superseded.
