2006 lOCAL APPOINTMENTS LIST
SUMMARY
Prior to December 31st of each year, the Maddy Act requires municipal agencies to
prepare and post a listing of all Commission/Committee vacancies for the coming year.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the 2006 local Appointments List for the Planning Commission, Parks and
Recreatiòn Commission, Historic Resources Committee, and Audit Committee and post
as required by law.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
BACKGROUND
Government Code Sections § 54970-54975 were enacted to insure that the public was
aware of the opportunities to serve on local commissions and committees. The Code
also mandates that municipal agencies compile a list of all City Council-appointed
commissions and committees that meet on a regular, on-going basis.
The list contains the name of the incumbent, date of appointment, date of term
expiration, and the necessary qualifications for the position. The list is required to be
posted prior to December 31 st of each year and distributed to the public upon request.
The 2006 local Appointments List indicates term expirations that will occur during
calendar year 2006 for the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission,
and Audit Committee.

2006 LOCAL APPOINTMENTS LIST
Pursuant to Government Code Section § 54972, following is a list of all regular, on-going Commissions
and Committees in the City of Tustin appointed by the City Council that will have term expirations
during the coming year. Vacancies that will occur during 2006 are identified with an asterisk (*).
Further information regarding these vacancies may be obtained from the City Clerk at 573-3025.
PLANNING COMMISSION
Qualifications: The Planning Commission shall consist of five (5) members who shall be registered
voter in the City of Tustin. Terms are for two (2) years; maximum of 3 term limit.

PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Qualifications: The Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of five (5) members who shall
residents of the City of Tustin. Terms are for two (2) years; maximum of 3 term limit.

HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMITTEE
Qualifications: All members of the Historic Resources Committee must be a resident of the City of
Tustin. The Historic Resources Committee meets on an as-needed basis or at least once per
calendar quarter as requested. The Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on
matters affecting the Cultural Resources District (Old Town Tustin), provides recommendations on
building and other activities occurring within the District, and serves as a liaison between Old Town
residents and the City Council.
It is highly desirable that members reside or conduct business in the Cultural Resources District,
demonstrate interest and knowledge in local history and historical preservation, and/or have expertise
in the professions of Architecture, Planning, Archeology, History or other historic preservation-related
disciplines. Terms are for four (4) years; no term limit.

and one (1) a registered voter within the Tustin Water Corporation area. Terms are for four (4) years;
