SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD A BID FOR THE TUSTIN TODAY
BROCHURE PRINTING AND GRAPHICS
SUMMARY
Award a contract and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement for printing
services to light Source Printing and Graphics for the Tustin Today quarterly brochure.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council award a contract to light Source Printing and Graphics of Santa Ana,
CA, in the amount of $5,189.00 per quarter for 35,000 copies of a 20-page brochure.
FISCAL IMPACT
The bid amount is within the Parks and Recreation Department's printing budget for the
quarterly Tustin Today brochure. The annual printing cost will be $20,800.00.
Additional costs are incurred for mailing and graphics production. Both services are
within the $49,500.00 currently funded.
BACKGROUND
The previous contract had expired with the spring brochure of 2006. A request for
proposal was sent to qualified printers in the local area. The bids were opened on
January 12, 2006. The following five bids were received:

Reference checks, an examination of bid documents, and a determination that the
contractor possesses the necessary skills and equipment have been completed. The
Risk "Manager will review the required bonds and insurance certificates.

The printing of the summer 2006 Tustin Today brochure is scheduled to begin April 4,
2006.
