SUBJECT: PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT
SUMMARY:
Due to a recent vacancy on the Public Art Committee, Council direction is needed to fill the
remaining term through July 17, 2022.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council appoint Julie Diebolt Price to serve the remaining
term.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
BACKGROUND:
On July 2, 2020, Ellen Kirwan, submitted her letter of resignation, effective July 15, 2020, due
to a change in residency outside the city's jurisdiction.
Mayor Bernstein appointed an ad hoc committee consisting of Mayor Pro Tem Clark and
Council Member Lumbard to review the Public Art Committee candidates and make a
recommendation to the full City Council.
Mayor Pro Tem Clark and Councilmember Lumbard are recommending the following
applicant for Council's consideration: Julie Diebolt Price.
Below is an excerpt from Julie's application responding to "What qualifies you to serve on
this committee?"
My background was first in the performing arts (AA in Dance and Theater Arts), then a long
stint in Corporate America and a BSBA, and for the last 25 years being a professional
photographer. Business and the arts are in my blood.
