HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 86-087o. 2 8 10 11 14 17 18 19 2O RESOLUTION NO. 86-87 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, MAKING APPLICATION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY KNOWN AS DIAMOND HEAD ANNEXATION NO. -137 TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN. WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Tustin on its own motion has initiated preliminary proceedings for the annexation of certain inhabited territory constituting an unincorporated island; and . WHEREAS, the city of Tustin has the ability to extend the full range of municipal services to the subject territory to better serve the needs of the residents of the area; and WHEREAS, an advertised public hearing will be conducted ~y the City Council on August 4, 1986 on the Council intent to adopt a resolution of application for annexation of the subject territory to the city of Tusttn; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the proposed annexation' is a Categorical Class lg exemption from the requirements of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the city of Tusttn, California that' 1o The proposal for the Dimaond Head-Garland Annexation No. 137 to the city of Tustin is made pursuant to Chapter 3, Part 1 of the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985. 2. The proposed change of organization consists of the annexation of 26.936 acres of inhabited island territory, surrounded by the incorporated li'mits of the city of Tustin, and said territory will derive benefits of full municipal services as a result of the annexation. 3o The subject Diamond Head territory is bounded by Melvin Way on the north, Bryan Avenue on the south, Red Hill Avenue on the west, and 100 plus feet easterly of Woodland Drive. The Garland territory is generally located westerly of Red Hill Avenue, 360 square feet southerly of Irvine Boulevard. 4. The proposed annexation is made for the purpose of increasing the economy and eff.i ci ency of government services by incorporating island territory within the city's sphere of influence. 5.
