Sadly, Robert passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 after developing a rare form of cancer. Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 25, 1960. After working as a Mechanic at K-Mart for many years, Robert began his career in public service when he was hired by the City of Tustin on June 11 , 1990. Originally employed as a Mechanics Helper, Robert served over 30 dedicated years to the Tustin community. In his most recent role as an Equipment Operator, Robert rose early each morning ready to hit the streets and refresh the byways of Tustin operating a street sweeper. Robert will be remembered by his colleagues as a hard-working man who was quiet and reserved, but who always had a smile on his face. Robert is survived by his wife Julie and son Douglas. On behalf of a grateful community, City Council, and "family" of staff, we extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Robert May. This meeting stands adjourned in his honor.
