FETSCHER (ITEM 10) CMD MAR 0 2 2021 February 25, 2021 TUSTIN City of Tustin CLERK'S OFFICE Council Meeting Scheduled for March 2, 2021 RE: Vacant lot 1941 EI Camino Real (Assessor Parcel Number 500-071-12) City Clerk, Per the instructions on the Official Notice of Public Hearing, these are some of my concerns: This is a matter that should be discussed in person. Under the current situation, it is not allowed, but the matter is too important to not discuss in person. This affects a lot of people. Owners of the properties on the north side of the properties have expressed a desire to purchase the lot in its entirety, which will bring revenue to the city of Tustin. Propose purchasing half leaving the portion paralleling EI Camino Real for the widening of EI Camino Real proposed in the 1990's to be paid for under Measure M, passed to do so. What became of the Measure M funds for the widening of that portion of EI Camino Real? The matter of a minimum of a 55 year agreement for the nonprofit business of House of Ruth project to be run on the lot brings an array of issues to the table. As a non-profit organization, there will be no tax incentive for the City to help pay for some of the things that having a business implemented would bring. The situation at this point should not even be allowed to go forward until life can return to complete normalcy. With the lockdowns imposed on the citizens of California, there are a lot of issues that are not able to be addressed at this moment, traffic and safety, in particular.
